Langtang Valley Trek

Overview

Introduction:

Langtang Valley Trek is relatively unknown to the majority of the trekkers. This trek is dominated by the Langtang himalayas (mountains and peaks). The trek will lead you through the road on rhododendron, bamboo forests and you will also see some amazing waterfalls.Aside from the diverse landscape this trek will give you a good insight in the Buddhists culture of the Tamang and Sherpa people. The most spectacular views of this trek include Dorjo Lakpa (6990m), Langtang Ri (6370m) and Langtang Lirung (7245m). Most people in this region earn a living with tourism and yak farming. On this trek you will be able to see some home based yak cheese factories. The Langtang Region is also home to Himalayan pheasants, Himalayan deers, Himalayan bears, monkeys and the red panda. During the earthquake of April 2015, most of the Langtang village was completely destroyed. Most locals have however been able to rebuilt their teahouses and lodges. For those who want to trek somewhere different than most of the other popular treks this is a perfect trek.
