Best Seasons:

Nearly all months of the year except the wet monsoon times from mid June to mid September, where views will get obstruct by heavy rain clouds most of the days but very lush and green around high hills and valleys. March to May one of the best months for Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Dhaulagiri to Ghorepani and Poon Hill trekking, where most of the day is clear with sunshine till mid afternoon clouds can gather by late afternoon, where hills will be alive and bright with wild-flowers in full bloom especially rhododendron of various species from tall trees to short bushes with varied colors. The area also known as world largest natural rhododendron garden (national flower of Nepal) which you can witness around spring times from March till May, October to December months another best months for treks when most of the days crystal clear for views, but cold in the morning and night time as well in shades with chances of snow sometimes during autumn and winter seasons.

Mt. Annapurna-Mt. Dhaulagiri Panorama (Ghorepani) Trekking a short duration adventure of great combination with scenic views and soaking into local cultures around hill within Ghorepani and Ghandruk villages, populated by hill tribes Gurung and Poon / Magar people. Walk starts with short drive from beautiful Pokhara city blessed with verdant valley and serene lakes located on the laps of Annapurna Himalaya where short drive takes you to starting point of the treks. As walk progress with climb visiting nice hill villages and into dense woodland to reach at famous Ghorepani village inhabited by Poon / Magar people where next morning climb takes you on top Poon Hill, on the highest spot of the journey at 3,210 m high facing stunning sunrise over range of mountains from Dhaulagiri- Annapurna to Manaslu with majestic Machhapuchare Himal ‘The Fish Tail’. Enjoying great moments then head back to lower warm areas taking an alternative scenic route visiting large Gurung village at Ghandruk and then finally completing our adventure in beautiful Pokhara after a glorious time and experience on Mt. Annapurna-Mt. Dhaulagiri Panorama (Ghorepani) Trekking.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu via various airlines and transfer to hotel.

On arrival at Kathmandu international airport received by Life and Journey staff / guide greets you with warm welcome and then transfer into heart of Kathmandu city to your respective hotels. With time to get refreshed join in for group briefing regarding treks with other useful information as well with do’s and don’ts, includes welcome group dinner in a nice authentic restaurants with cultural program.

Day 02: In Kathmandu options for sightseeing tour and trek preparation.

Free day in Kathmandu for leisure activities as well for options for sightseeing tour around the city places of Interest, as Kathmandu and its close other cities steeped with World Heritage Sites, rest of the afternoon preparation for the trek around Annapurna Himalaya.

Day 03: Drive or Fly to Pokhara 860 m (30 mins by air) with 6 hrs overland.

Morning overland journey to Pokhara of near 6 hrs drives either in tourist bus, charted coach or in cars as per the size of the group. Journey leads on main Kathmandu and Pokhara highway past many farm villages and town with views of snow capped mountains till you reach at Pokhara, after having lunch on route. At Pokhara transfer to your hotel by the lake side of Phewa with time for short walk with view of peaks and lake and preparation for the trek next morning Dinner either in respective hotels or outside restaurants near the lake side (Flight options 30 minutes to reach Pokhara by air from Kathmandu).

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul start walk to Tirkhedhunga 1,460 m- 05 hrs.

After pleasant overnight stop in Pokhara, morning a short drive to reach the  starting point of th trek at Nayapul town or from Bhirethati village, a nice place on the side of Modi River, where walk starts heading with slow uphill into villages overlooking cascading waterfalls entering forest and farm areas with climb to reach at Tirkhedhunga for overnight stop, a nice farm village close to its beautiful waterfalls.

Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani 2,880 m-06 hrs.

From Tirkhedhunga morning walk up hill on stone paved steps all the way to reach a high ridge top at Ulleri village for overnight stops after a tough walk of few hours. Ulleri a large Gurung and Magar village facing views of rolling hills and snow capped peaks of Annapurna South, Huin Chuli and top of Machhapuchare Himal. From Ulleri on winding gentle path within oaks-pines and rhododendron forest, slowly gaining altitude then reach at Ghorepani village. Ghorepani offers fantastic views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South and Vara- Shikar also called Annapurna Fang, village with blue painted houses serving as good lodges located at the base of Poon Hill, populated with Poon people of Magar ethnic tribe.

Day 06: Hike to Poon Hill 3,210 and trek to Tadapani 2,630 m - 05 hrs.

Morning before breakfast start climb to Poon Hill, starting early morning hour hike to Poon-Hill above 3,210 m and 10,531 ft high, offers stunning views of sunrise over range of mountains from Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu to Annapurna and as far to Ganesh Himal including Mt. Machhapuchare “The Fish Tail”. After enjoying wide angle panorama views of mountains with sunrise walk back to Ghorepani and then continue trek to Tadapani, our route leads to a climb into enchanting rhododendron forest all the way to Tadapani for overnight stops, Tadapani situated in the middle of rhododendron, magnolia and oaks forest with fabulous view of Mt. Machhapuchare and Annapurna South peaks.

Day 07: Trek to Ghandruk Village 1,940 m -04 hrs.

Morning after breakfast walk leads into forested areas and downhill to reach Ghandruk village for lunch and overnight stop at Ghandruk after few hours of good walk, with time here in the afternoon free to explore around Gurung village at Ghandruk and its small interesting museum. Ghandruk one of the largest Gurung villages around Annapurna Himalaya and route to many trekking and adventure destination.

Day 08: Trek to road head and drive to Pokhara-05 hrs.

From Ghandruk heading downhill on nice stone steps to reach low warm farm areas at Syali village, and follow Modi River to reach back at Bhirethati and Nayapul for exciting short drive to scenic Pokhara by its calm Phewa Lake.

Day 09: Drive / Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Morning after breakfast drive takes you back at Kathmandu, taking about 5-6 hrs on same busy highway back to Kathmandu, during journey observe Nepalese country life within farm villages and town, reaching Kathmandu transfer to hotel with evening free at leisure (Flight options 30 minutes to reach Kathmandu from Pokhara by air).

Day 10: International Departure homeward bound or respective countries.

Your last final day in Nepal the country of Himalayan wonders, as per your flight time depart from the hotel, where our guides and staff transfer you for International departure homeward bound or to respective countries.
